Anyway, I have choosen PERSERVERANCE as my 2010 word. I looked up the definition and it is defined as: determined continuation with something; steady and continued action or belief usually over a long period and especially despite difficulties or setbacks.
One thing I have learned in the last 10 weeks is that God is at work in so many lives that sometimes, well alot of the time, in our "normal" everyday life we don't get to see! The perseverance I have witnessed by tiny miracles of God and their parents is absolutely overwhelming. The devil is active and throws us curveballs all day long and is just waiting for us to fall flat on our face and not get up.
But, Romans 5:3 reads, "...we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." Then, James 1:12 says "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
There are so many that have said to me "She is such a fighter", referring to Kelsey. Well, she is persevering each and every day!! Just take a look......
If for no other reason but for my family I have been called to persevere. This is very much a learned trait and every single day God reminds me of who I am and who I am called to be. So, for 2010 I am committing to persevere, to continue despite difficulties or setbacks.
Hop over to MoJoy and choose a word for you this year! It's sure to be lots of fun! I have to say that committing to this blog is going to take a lot of perseverance!!

I love your word! Whan an inspired idea! I'll have to chew on that for a while. For some reason it reminded me of the title of a book I have yet to read - it's called "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction" by Eugene Peterson (the guy who translated The Message). It came up during our Beth Moore study of the Psalms of Ascents and it's all about this pilgrimage we're on. Praying for you, for perseverance and your precious family!
