A Brand New Year!!

Well, I have not posted anything on this dear ole blog in 6 months! And as many of you know we have had so many things to talk about! So I have resolved to use this as a journal of sorts for our new life with two baby girls.

Ten weeks ago today Josie Claire and Kelsey Elise were born. At 28 weeks I went into premature labor and the girls were born weighing 2 lbs and 2 lbs 5 oz. Josie Claire woke up in Heaven that Monday morning and now Kelsey is 6 lb 4 oz! I was blessed to have carried Josie Claire for a sweet 7 months and now Kelsey continues to bless me everyday. God is working a miracle before my very eyes and I feel even more blessed to be able to share this with my family.

Kelsey and I are currently residing in Shreveport. She is in the NICU at Christus Schumpert's Hospital and we are renting a room in an extended stay hotel. I usually go home one day a week to spend some quality time with Julia Kate, usually playing baby dolls or cooking in her kitchen. She is a fabulous 2 year old that entertains us all!

I had the pleasure of giving Kelsey her bottle tonight. She is now receiving a bottle every other feeding and seems to tolerate well. She is on 48% oxygen on the lowest flow setting (1/8 liter). When they send babies home on oxygen it is at 1/8 liter and 100%......our prayer is that Kelsey comes completely off before heading to Crowville. She is well on her way to that!

I am looking forward with great anticipation for what God has in store for our family in 2010!!

Kelsey ......now 6 lbs 4 oz!!
And....her big sister Julia Kate...future chef!
